How to choose a dog’s food
If you want your pet to rejoice in life and is always full of strength in the diet of a dog must necessarily enter the following elements:
Fat. Contain more calories than carbohydrates and proteins and are necessary for dogs to maintain cells in working condition. Dogs absorb vegetable and animal fats well. Nevertheless, in the oils that are obtained from plants, it contains precisely those fatty acids that are needed for normal metabolism in dogs.
Squirrels. The dog’s body cells contain more than 50% protein. They are necessary for the production of hormones, enzymes, antibodies, hemoglobin. As well as dogs, proteins are especially important during the growth period. However, not all types of proteins are absorbed equally well. For dogs, the most important proteins of animal origin (vegetable – are absorbed much worse).
Carbohydrates. Carbohydrates – Energy and building material for biological components. As well as carbohydrates provide assistance in the metabolism of proteins and fats.
Vitamins. Are a very important part of the dog’s diet. They do not contain calories, but help turn calories into energy and participate in almost all the processes occurring in the body of the dog. Vitamins are divided into fat -soluble (vitamins: A, E, D, K) and water -soluble (B vitamins and vitamin C). For the assimilation of fat -soluble vitamins, food fat is necessary, and water is enough for water -soluble water.
Minerals. It is necessary for the dog to maintain health (they are components of all fluids in the dog’s body and components of enzymes, participate in the construction of bones and teeth). Minerals are better absorbed by a dog from meat than from plant foods. It is very important that the minerals in the dog’s diet are very well balanced, otherwise there is a risk of an excess of one element and a lack of another. Therefore, before you start giving your dog various mineral additives must be consulted with the veterinarian.
Water. Water is necessary for dogs, like all living things. Pure and cool water should be available to the dog at any time. The lack of water can lead to the formation of stones in the kidneys and bladder. Therefore, in no case should you deprive the dog of water.
To choose the optimal feed for the dog, you need to carefully study the label, it is there that you can find the necessary information about what is contained in this product.
It’s important to know!
The word “food” denotes the content of meat by 95%.
The word “lunch with meat …” implies the content of meat by no more than 25%.
The words “… with meat” will mean only 3% of meat.
In addition, do not buy food that contains meat, cereals or cereal offal, sugar substitutes, flavors, dyes and preservatives.
How to choose a dog’s food
It is better to opt for the feeds, on the labels of which a specific type of meat is indicated as the first and main ingredient, for example: beef or turkey meat.
Dry, canned, semi -tube food – which is better?
Of the three proposed options, preference should be given to the first two, t.to. The components that make up the semi -liquid feed are not useful for dogs. Dry food is more economical from the point of view that it contains calories in a more concentrated form than in canned, in which there is much more water on ec. volume.
Healthy human food is also acceptable for dogs. However, do not forget that some elements need a dog more than a person.
Whatever your choice, having studied the basics of nutrition and following some simple rules, you will have a healthy cheerful dog at home!
